Migrating 400+ Users from Exchange 2019 to Microsoft 365
A carefully planned migration from an on-premises Exchange 2019 environment supporting more than 400 active users to Microsoft 365.
The project involved considerably more than simply moving mailboxes. Exchange preparation, Microsoft 365 configuration, identity synchronisation, licensing automation, Office deployment, email security, user communication and the eventual decommissioning of legacy Exchange infrastructure all formed part of the migration.

UniFi Networking: From Home Wi-Fi to Stadium-Scale Deployments
Four very different networking environments demonstrating how good network design can scale from whole-home Wi-Fi through to education and high-density stadium deployments.
The projects cover a three-storey home, remotely managed hospitality Wi-Fi, replacement of a secondary-school network and troubleshooting wireless capacity problems in a football stadium with more than 5,000 people potentially in attendance.

From File Server to Microsoft 365
Replacing an ageing on-premises file server without simply buying another physical server.
The existing server was approaching end of life, but replacing it like-for-like wasn’t necessarily the best solution. The existing data was reviewed and migrated into Microsoft 365 using SharePoint Online and OneDrive.

🖥️ Infrastructure & Virtualisation
VMware to Scale HC3 Migration
Migrating production Windows virtual machines from VMware onto Scale Computing HC3 without rebuilding the servers.
Existing VMware workloads were prepared and exported as VHDX before being imported into Scale HC3, where the virtual disks were converted to QCOW2.
The migration also required handling the transition from IDE to VIRTIO storage so Windows could successfully boot and operate on the new virtualisation platform.

🛡️ Microsoft 365 Security
Securing Microsoft 365 with Conditional Access
Suspicious account activity became the catalyst for a wider Microsoft 365 security review and a significant improvement in identity protection.
After suspicious emails raised concerns about a possible account compromise, Microsoft Entra ID sign-in activity was investigated and authentication attempts from unexpected geographical locations were identified.
The organisation moved from Microsoft 365 Business Standard to Business Premium, providing the security and management capabilities required to introduce Conditional Access and strengthen the tenant’s overall security posture.
