More for less

Having served in the Army for 9 years, one of the things we learned to do was get the best out of what we have. We never always had the best kit, but we knew how to use it, how to fix it, and how to make it effective.

This is a skill I transferred into my roles in civilian life. Always getting the most out of what we had. If this meant cannibalising hardware to ensure the computers were able to be repaired at very little cost then so be it.

It really is a case of saving money where possible, while ensuring that the service interruptions were kept to a minimum.  This saved thousands from the IT budget.

You can breath new life into an old laptop by replacing the hard drive for an SSD and upgrading the ram. This will make your older laptop feel like new. You don’t even need to lose your data. This can all be copied over to the SSD.
