Getting ready for Windows 11

You may be aware that Windows 10 is being discontinued in 2025.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/end-of-support?r=1#:~:text=Support%20for%20Windows%2010%20will,recommend%20moving%20to%20Windows%2011.
So what does this mean for your business?
With the support ending, it does not mean that you PC/Laptop will not work, it just means that it will no longer receive any updates. This could be a problem if you value your security. You will not be protected from any exploits discovered when support ends. It also means that some malware protection will not protect you as they will not support their product on an unsupported operating system.
So what do you need to do? You need to plan. Plan to ensure that you have backups of your critical data. Plan that your hardware will meet the minimum specifications for Windows 11. This is important. There are ways of installing windows 11 on unsupported hardware. However, Microsoft are wise to this and may block updates to systems that are running on unsupported hardware. You will also lose out on many of the enhancements that Windows 11 brings, such as aesthetics and security. You may not be able to encrypt your device without the need for costly performance degradation. Modern processors have additional security embedded in them, Windows 11 takes advantage of these instructions. Devices need to have the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) to handle hardware encryption.
Plan the upgrade process so that you don not lose valuable production time.
